Travel Information
Air Travel
Fly directly in to Victoria International Airport (YYJ) on Vancouver Island for easiest access. For teams unfamiliar with British Columbia, do not make the mistake of getting a final destination flight to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) because Vancouver is NOT on Vancouver Island. You will still have to catch a ferry from Vancouver to Victoria, and you will be sad.
You also have the option to catch a float plane to Victoria's Inner Harbour Airport (YWH) from Seattle or Vancouver. Check out Harbour Air.
Ferry Travel
For teams travelling by ferry from the Vancouver area of BC, use BC Ferries service for cars and passengers that leaves from Tsawwassen Terminal (nearest Vancouver) to Swartz Bay Terminal (nearest Victoria). Ferry travel time is about 1.5 hours, with additional drive time of about 45 minutes to the tournament venue. Reservations are recommended for the holiday weekend, even though ferries run hourly.
Teams travelling by ferry from Washington state have various options:
-
From Port Angeles, WA, the Coho Ferry is a car and passenger ferry that crosses from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria's Inner Harbour. Ferry travel time is about 1.5 hours, with additional drive time of about 35 minutes to the tournament venue. Reservations are highly recommended for this holiday weekend and sailing times are limited. We deliberately schedule our tournament to allow for teams to catch the 8:15AM Saturday morning sailing from Port Angeles, and we finish closing ceremonies on Monday in time for teams to catch the 3:00PM return sailing from Victoria.
-
From Anacortes, WA, the WSDOT Anacortes ferry is a car and passenger ferry service that crosses from Anacortes, WA to Sidney, BC. Ferry travel time is nearly 3 hours, with additional drive time of about 45 minutes to the tournament venue.
-
From Seattle, WA, the Victoria Clipper is a passenger only ferry that crosses from downtown Seattle, WA to Victoria's Inner Habour. Ferry travel time is about 2.5 hours, and you will need to arrange for transportation from downtown Victoria to our tournament venue in Colwood, BC.
